With all the limestone paving work completed, our focus switched to preparing the open spaces for the decorative pebble. We lined the ground with horticultural membrane to suppress any potential weed growth and then topped it with a hardcore layer to provide a stable base. This was blinded and compacted with coarse grit to prevent any risk of the hardcore sub-base churning with the decorative pebble.
The soil area for new lawn needs to be leveled and made ready for the new roll turf lawn. When completed, the lawn, together with the decorative pebble will hopefully produce a very attractive finish and balance the limestone stonework of the raised bed, limestone paved patio and circular pathways.
